Display Case:
It is part of the library's function to provide access to intellectual and cultural resources to the community. Thus, the library welcomes the opportunity to allow community groups, organizations, or individuals to use the various display cases in the foyer of the library. Arrangements for exhibits must be made through the Librarian in charge of exhibits and will be on a first-come first-serve basis. If you would like to show off your special collections, ask us about the availability and rules for using the showcases. To see what is currently on display visit the Library's website calendar, call or stop by the library during operating hours.

Pre-School Story Times Offered:
Caro Library offers pre-school story time sessions free, open to the public, three times a year. There are five week sessions offered in the fall, winter and spring. Registration is required.
The sessions are recommended for 3 - 5 year olds. In the event the library would be closed for any reason then the story time would also be canceled.

We introduce young children to books and reading at story times. Story times are a fun way for a child to build listening skill while interacting in a group setting with their peers. We will share the love of books through: stories, games, finger plays, flannel board stories, rhymes and songs. Parents are free to stop in at the library or call for more information.

Senior Computer Classes:
The staff at Caro Area District Library offers seniors free Basic Computer/Internet classes two times a
year. The basic class is designed to introduce the patron to the basic operations of the computer and
Microsoft Word processor. The Basic Internet class will introduce the patron to the basic searching
techniques for surfing the internet and setting up an email account. These classes are very basic and are
designed for the novice beginner and are not intended for in-depth instruction. The classes are limited in
size so if you are interested, please call the library and inquire about the dates and times available.

Used Book Sale:
The friends of the Caro Area District Library sponsor two used book sale s in the library community
room in May and November. Books are sold on a free-will donation basis unless marked with price.
Selection includes gently used children’s and adult fiction and non-fiction books in paperback and
hardcover. Many of the books are in almost new condition. Some used books are available for $ 10
paperback and $.25 hardcover on the cart by the adult circulation desk.

Summer Reading Programs Offered.
Join us in the summer as we explore the fun of reading through a Summer Reading Program. Our goal is
to motivate children to read, develop positive attitudes about reading and books, and enable children to
maintain their library skill, to encourage regular use of the library, to attract new users to the library, to
promote our library services and materials and to offer experiences through which children can learn to
work cooperatively. The students work toward earning a reading certificate. The Summer Reading
program is open to young people, preschool age through young adult, with programs, prizes, drawing
contest and more. A variety of programs are offered free during the five-week period. A schedule of all
programs will be available upon registration.

Group Tours of the Library
Groups wishing to tour the library are encouraged to make arrangements for a guided tour at least two
weeks in advance. These tours are offered at no charge. Tours will be assigned on a first-come, first-served
basis.

Pre-Schoolers’ tours last approximately one half hour and include a chance for the children to see how the
books are checked out, tour the various sections to familiarize participants with the Library, and end with
listening to a story being read by the Librarian.

Older Students tours have a greater focus on the services of the library and the functions of the various
levels and spaces. They learn how to use the computer card catalog and then how to find the books on the
shelves.

Feel free to contact the library for further details about these programs.
